Three months ago I weighed 278lbs. I was extremely overweight. My body was in bad shape. I felt sluggish and I would tire easily.
Playing basketball was a chore, I always had to stop running to catch my breath. Moreover, because of my obesity I was diagnosed to be pre-diabetic. And so it dawned on me that I had to do something for the sake of my health. I don’t want to be a diabetic at a young age more so for the rest of my life.
My parents are friends of Richard Dy and they saw how Arze Dy, Richard’s wife transformed from a plump lady to a lean and fit one. My parents encouraged me to try Crossfit in Richard Dy’s box in San Juan. Because of location, I opted to find someplace closer to where I spend my time, luckily I found CrossFit Kapitolyo. That started my journey to #RegainFitness!
During my first week at CrossFit, my brother and I felt sore all over our bodies. I was having second thoughts to continue or stop. But our coaches, Reno and Zeb did a good job to motivate and encourage me. Week after week I feel my body getting stronger and I feel I am on my way to achieving my goals to have a healthy body.
The best things I got from CrossFit aside from the skills I have learned are meeting like-minded friends who work hard to have fit and healthy bodies. After three months of CrossFit coupled with a sensible diet, I now weigh 248lbs. I have never felt so happy with myself. My family and friends have noticed my weight loss and they are complementing me on how I look. They encourage me to continue CrossFit and a healthy lifestyle. I have lessened my alcohol intake. I also eat in moderation. I go to the box and workout four to five times a week. I still have a long way to go to achieve my ideal weight but with CFMNL and my coaches to guide me I know I will not be far from that goal. #StriveforGreatness
